In 1998 I began this series of drawings, which are like sketchbook drawings, but not in a book. They begin as pencil drawings which are erased and redrawn over and over until something emerges that could be continued in ink. After inking, using pens, quills or brush, thin washes of ink or watercolor are superimposed in some scheme that may, or may not, have much to do with the ink line work.
